Children enrolled in licensed child care

Coös has 13 licensed child care centers that provide early care and education to 415 Coös children, which is roughly 1/3 of the total population of Coös children ages birth to four years old.

Licensed programs are those that have met the state's standards of providing safe and healthy environments, care, supervision and developmentally appropriate activities that meet each child's physical and emotional needs.

It also allows families to identify programs with higher quality.

NAEYC (National Association for the Education of the Young Child) accredited centers have gone through a rigorous process of internal and external evaluation and have met national standards of evidence-based higher quality child care.
